Fried Meatballs 

Bahan :

  • 400 gr pork butt - minced
  • 200 gr fish - minced
  • 500 gr tapioca starch
  • 100 gr dried shrimp
  • 5 eggs
  • 5 tbs fish sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp white pepper
Method :
  1. Mix all ingredients.
  2. Round mixture and fried with cooking oil.

Kue Mangkok ( Cup Cake)

Kue Mangkok 

In English kue means cake and mangkok means cup. This cupcakes made from rice flour.

Ingredients:
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp salt
• 100 gr tapai from cassava root
• 150 gr granulated sugar
• 150 ml boil water
• 175 gr rice flour
• 175 ml cold water
• 200 ml red soda water
• 75 gr cake flour

Method:
1. Mix rice flour & cold water until smooth.
2. Add tapai and granulated sugar, mix well.
3. Pour boil water into cake flour and mix with rice flour mixture, until smooth. Leave for 1-2 hours.
4. Add Baking powder and soda water. Mix well.
5. Steam cupcakes tin. Pour batter into hot cupcakes tin. Steam for 30 minutes.

New York Cheesecake

I found this recipe from allrecipes. This cheesecake is delicious.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 15 graham crackers, crushed  
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted 
  • 4 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese  
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar  
  • 3/4 cup milk   
  • 4 eggs   
  • 1 cup sour cream  
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract  
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9 inch springform pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs with melted butter. Press onto bottom of springform pan.
  3. In a large bowl, mix cream cheese with sugar until smooth. Blend in milk, and then mix in the eggs one at a time, mixing just enough to incorporate. Mix in sour cream, vanilla and flour until smooth. Pour filling into prepared crust.
  4. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour. Turn the oven off, and let cake cool in oven with the door closed for 5 to 6 hours; this prevents cracking. Chill in refrigerator until serving.

Crispy Fried Banana

This crispy fried banana is popular in Jakarta now.

Ingredients :

  • 10 ripe bananas
  • 1 1/2 lt cooking oil

Dip Ingredients :

  • 125 gr low protein flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 250 ml water
  • 1 tbm rice flour
  • 1 1/2 tbm confection sugar

Crispy Skin Ingredients :

  • 1 lt water
  • 240 gr rice flour
  • 45 gr sago starch
  • 1 tbm salt
  • 20 gr palm sugar (grate)
  • 2 egg yolks

Method :

  • Slice banana like hand fan.
  • Mix dip ingredients until well.
  • Mix crispy skin ingredients until well.
  • Heat oil. Pour 1/4 cup crispy skin mixture. Let it float.
  • Dip Banana in dip mixture. Lie at crispy skin in fryer. Fold crispy skin over banana.
  • Fry until golden color.

Muffin or Cupcakes?

I find this recipe from someone’s blog.
This recipe call muffin for this cake.
I think method for this muffin is not common method for baking muffins.
When I decide to try this recipe, I’m not sure for success in baking this cakes.
Finally, this muffin have good taste. The texture moist & soft.
But, I’m still not certain if this cake should call as muffin.
According one of article about muffin and cup cakes.
Proportion for muffin should be 2 cups flour, 1/4 cup fat and 1 egg.
But this recipe have 1 cup fat and 4 flour (its should be cake like, according that article).

Ingredients :

    * 2 1/2 cups flour
    * 1 cup butter
    * 1/2 cup water
    * 1/4 sdt salt
    * 4 eggs
    * 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
    * 1 tbs baking powder
    * 1/2 cup dry ingredients (e.g. chocolate chips, nuts, etc.)
    * 1/2 tsp vanilla ekstrak

Method :

  1. Boil butter, water and salt.
  2. Pour butter mixture into flour. Mix slowly.
  3. Add vanilla extract.
  4. Add egg, one by one.
  5. Mix sugar and baking powder, pour into butter mixture. Mix well.
  6. Add other dry ingredients.
  7. Scoop batter to muffin pans.
  8. Oven at 320°F

Sambal made from chilli. Cirebon is one of city in Indonesia.
This sambal is very delicious. Made from chili and beef.
Although is look very hot, it’s not very hot.
Sambal goreng cirebon is one of my family’s favourite.

Sweet Lotus Seed Soup 

This dessert popular as chinese dessert which combine from kind of chinese herb.
Ingredients from this dessert are lotus seeds, white fungus, dried longans, red dates, barley and you can combine with other chinese herb as you wish.
Those chinese herb can maintain human health.

Both Lotus seeds and dried longans are good for the heart, spleen and kidneys.
Red dates are effective in combating fatigue, anemia, and boosting energy levels.
White fungus promotes to the skin and complexion. White fungus also benefits the lungs, stomach and kidneys.

This dessert have oriental taste. It’s sweet, have rich flavour and delicious.

Bak Chang 

Rice Bak Chang

Ingredients (A) :

    * 2 tbs cooking oil
    * 1 tbs chopped garlic
    * 1 kg rice
    * 2 lt water, for cooking rice
    * 2 tsp salt
    * 3 tsp light soy sauce
    * bamboo leaves

Filling (B) :

    * 400 gr belly pork / chicken meat
    * 250 ml water, for boil
    * 7 tbs cooking oil
    * 2 tbs chopped shallot & garlic
    * 2 tbs light soy sauce
    * 1 tbs oyster sauce
    * 5 tbs dark soy sauce (sweet)
    * 2 tsp granulated sugar
    * 1 tsp pepper
    * 3 tsp sesame oil
    * 2 tbs dried shrimp

Method :

  1. Soak bamboo leaves in boiling water overnight. Clean and wipe the leaves with a damp cloth.
  2. Soak rice and drain. Heat oil in a wok. Sauté chopped garlic until fragrant. Add and fry over medium heat for a while. Season with all seasonings in (A). Cook until all water absorb. Dish out and set aside. 
  3. Filling : Heat oil in a wok. Sauté chopped garlic and shallots until fragrant. Add dried shrimp and meat. Add all seasoning in (B).
  4. Take two bamboo leaves, make them overlap slightly and fold into a conical shape. Put 1 tbsp rice into the funnel base. Add 1 tbsp of filling. Cover with some more rice. Fold leaves over rice to form a triangular prism. Tie with raffia string.
  5. Boil a large pot of water and add 2-3 tsp salt. Drop the bundles of dumplings in and boil for 1 1/2 - 2 hours over medium slow fire. Top constantly with boiling water to maintain level of water at all times.

Cake Cheese Tapai 

This delicious cake use tapai (fermented cassava) as main ingredients.

Cake Cheese Tapai

Ingredients :

  • 350 gr cassava tapai (crush until smooth)
  • 4 eggs
  • 100 gr granulated sugar
  • 100 gr butter, melted
  • 125 gr flour
  • 15 gr full cream milk powder
  • 50 gr grated cheese (side aside 25 for sprinkle at top cake)
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla 

Method :

  1. Prepare 8′ bundt cake pan.
  2. Mix egg and sugar until white and fluffy.
  3. Add sifted flour, milk powder, and vanilla. Mix well.
  4. Add tapai, mix well.
  5. Pour melted butter into batter. Mix well.
  6. Pour half batter, sprinkle cheese and pour another half.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle remaining cheese at top cake.
